The main character is a wife suffering in the aftermath of some sort of nervous breakdown and made to stay in an upstairs room. She wants to leave, she wants to do something, she craves mental stimulation ... The perils of being cooped up and unoccupied :-) | |

April | Baby Blankets Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield have asked for knitted baby blankets as they were taken from the wards, so now the babies are wrapped in towels. You can use any pattern you like, but there must be NO HOLES in the pattern. Double knitting, 4mm \ size 8 needles. Cast on 80 stitches, work for 18", cast off. A pair of matching Hearts The Intensive Care Unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary has requested these to give to relatives of those bereaved, as they're currently not allowed visitors. They are to be made in identical pairs around 6.5cm, with minimal stuffing, as one is posted enclosed in a card. The other is kept with their loved one. They can be knit, sewed, or crocheted.
