President's Welcome

At last with Boris's recent announcements it looks like things are cautiously going back to normal and so is Idle WI. Yippee!!
To start the ball rolling we had a wonderful social on 19th July at the Drapers, Idle in their outdoor covered space with a high tea from Miss Butterfingers.
Looking forward, our first face to face meeting will be on Monday 20th September 7.30pm. An evening of getting reacquainted is on the cards with cup cakes from Miss Butterfingers, to enable us to catch up unhindered and to get us back into the swing of things.
Past members who are unsure about rejoining because they feel anxious meeting folks indoors outside their bubbles are welcome to come along to test the water and see how this situation feels to them. If uncomfortable they will be fully respected for staying as little or long as they feel appropriate, either with or without a mask. I am sure we will all do our best as a group to make each other feel safe.
We are also planning to start our spin off clubs, book club in September then singing for fun and knit and natter in October. Julie will be emailing you with further details.
The committee hope you have enjoyed these newsletters while we have been unable to meet up, but I for one am so glad that future circumstances means we will no longer need them. The committee would like to thank all the members for their support during this difficult time and thoroughly look forward to actually seeing you all again.
Bev
